In 1984, Thomas Hogeboom walked the length of the 2,133 mile Appalachian Trail with a 16 mm movie camera, then set to work creating his own unique vision of the experience. Released in 1992, this award-winning film has now been seen by a worldwide audience estimated at 20 million people and has generated a file full of rave reviews.

In 1998, Hogeboom set out to walk across Montana and Idaho on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) with a digital video camera. 265 miles into the trek, he was hospitalized for dehydration, then required further medical attention for a tick disease.
